Áspera é o primeiro livro de Shinji Shiozaki. Resultado da pesquisa do documentário longa-metragem que dirigiu. É uma ampliação do discurso artístico contemporâneo da criação e produção de skatistas e o ambiente que os cercam.
Inspirado pela produção artísticas dos skatistas, o fotógrafo passou quatro anos dedicado a observação da influência da rua e o cotidiano vadio como inspiração para o processo criativo do cenário independente.
A superfície de suporte de skatistas é encapada por uma lixa que se assemelha a textura do ambiente, do chão e da imagem de alguém deitado no chão no chão. Em Áspera os cristais de areia dessa lixa são as fontes de canalização e troca de energia para a criação artística, como um prisma que revela a luz de várias outras formas.
O trabalho constrói uma sequência cotidiana e pessoal nos registros, quase banais. Uma metalinguagem da própria produção artística. A construção do livro se dá em meio de processos de outras obras artísticas no dia-a-dia.
Áspera is Shinji Shiozaki's first book. The result of researching the feature documentary he directed. Is an extension of the contemporary artistic discourse of the creation and production of skateboarders and the environment that surrounds them.
Inspired by the artistic production of skaters, he spent four years devoted to observing the influence of the street and the vague daily life as inspiration for the creative process of the independent scene.
The support surface of skaters is covered by sandpaper that resembles the texture of the environment, the floor and the image of someone lying on the floor. In Áspera the sand crystals of this sandpaper are the sources of channeling and energy exchange for artistic creation, like a prism that reveals light in many other ways.
The work builds a daily and personal sequence in the almost banal records. As a metalanguage of the artistic production itself. The construction of the book takes place in the midst of processes of other artistic works on a daily basis.
