O documentário tece com destreza a linha narrativa - propositalmente cronológica - que busca condensar, em 90 minutos, as inúmeras histórias vivenciadas por Éder “O” Rocha, Helder Vasconcelos, Maurício Bade, Mazinho Lima, Sérgio Cassiano e Siba Veloso. Na percepção de quem compõe a matéria-prima do filme, o produto final é importante documento para preservação da memória não apenas da banda, mas da história cultural pernambucana."

"At the heart of the cultural ferment in 1990s Recife, six creatively restless minds joined forces to give birth to Mestre Ambrósio, one of the most celebrated bands of the Pernambuco music scene. Exactly 30 years after the release of their self-titled debut album, the group marks the milestone with the documentary *Quando a gente vira um* ("When We Become One").
Through a mix of rare archival footage and interviews with the band and other figures—such as Lenine, Otto, and Jorge Du Peixe—the film transports the viewer from the group's embryonic stage, as they sought the artistic identity that would define the project, to their eventual consolidation through album recordings and worldwide tours. They even made an appearance in a Globo soap opera (*Suave Veneno*)—believe it or not—during what might be termed the band's commercial peak.
